What Nalo does under the hood
When you mention a client + prices, Nalo:
- Extracts the client name — even partial names like “Mrs Lewis” or “Juan R.” work
- Expands shorthand into professional descriptions — “broken toilet 275” becomes a full line item
- Applies your tax rate — if you set one in
/config(e.g., 8.25%) - Applies your deposit policy — if you configured a deposit % (e.g., 30%)
- Creates line items with proper quantity / unit price / total
- Generates the PDF with your business logo, address, payment terms
- Saves the quote number for quick reference later
Multiple line items
Separate them with and, plus, +, or natural language:
Quote for Mr Díaz — replace water heater 1800 plus parts 300 and labor 200
Nalo builds 3 line items automatically:
- Water heater replacement — $1,800
- Parts — $300
- Labor — $200
Total: $2,300
A target total without individual prices
Quote Mrs Smith for a full bathroom remodel, $8,500 total
Nalo creates reasonable line items that sum to $8,500 — demolition, plumbing, fixtures, tile, labor — each with a professional description.
Optional line items
Quote for Mr Chen — driveway pressure wash 250, gutter cleaning optional 120
The gutter cleaning shows on the PDF with (optional) next to it. Your client can opt in or out.
Frequency math
For recurring services, Nalo does the math for you:
Quote for Mrs Lewis weekly lawn mowing, $45 per visit
Nalo calculates 4 visits/month × $45 = $180/month and creates the quote at $180.
Frequency shortcuts:
| You say… | Nalo assumes… |
|---|---|
| weekly, 4x/month | 4 visits/month |
| bi-weekly, every 2 weeks | 2 visits/month |
| monthly | 1 visit/month |
If you say a monthly total directly ("$180/month"), Nalo uses that.
Addresses and validation
Include the client’s address and Nalo validates it:
Quote for Mrs Lewis — broken toilet 275, address 11 inland prairie dr tomball
Nalo responds:
Did you mean 11 Inland Prairie Dr, Tomball, TX 77377? A Yes · B No
Say A and the address is locked in with GPS coordinates (for route planning later).
Adjusting a quote
Say B after the quote summary. Describe the change:
Add a 10% discount
Or:
Remove the parts line
Or:
Make the labor $250 instead of $200
Nalo cancels the current draft, creates a fresh version with your change, and shows the new summary.
Sending the quote to your client
After the PDF generates, you’ll see:
A Send to client · B Schedule a visit · C Back to menu
Say A or any of these natural phrases:
“Send it to her” “Enviaselo a ella” “Mandale la cotización a Mrs Lewis”
Nalo sends your client a WhatsApp (or SMS) message in their language, with the PDF link and a friendly note:
English client:

Tips and pitfalls
What works well
- Short descriptions → Nalo expands them professionally
- Target totals without line items → Nalo creates reasonable breakdowns
- Mentioning the address → Nalo validates + saves for route planning
- Voice messages (see Voice messages) → transcribed and quoted
Watch out for
- Very long recurring schedules — quote one month at a time, then set up recurring appointments
- Mixing currencies — quotes use your business’s country currency only
- Missing client name — if you forget to include a name, Nalo will assume you’re adding a service, not quoting. Say the client explicitly
